Sled Island, one of Calgary’s most exciting and unique music and art festivals is fast approaching – 
June 20-23rd! It is three days jam-packed with over 200 bands from across all genres playing at 30 different venues in Calgary’s core. The festival also includes an array of local art exhibits and films. The main stage is at the downtown outdoor venue, Olympic Plaza, featuring several big shows including the festival headliner, FEIST! You can purchase tickets for the full weekend, the Olympic Plaza shows, or for individual shows.
Tips and Tricks for ultimate festival weekend success!
1. Embrace the diversity! Let loose and allow yourself to experience and appreciate alllll Sled Island has to offer – Calgary’s vibrant music and art culture. Make your only expectation to have FUN!
2. Ride bikes!!!! The most economic, fast, and fun way to get from A to B in Calgary’s downtown. If you don’t have your own, Good Life Bike Shop will have rentals available at the Simmons Building in East Village specifically for the festival.
3. Prepare for a whole day and night affair. Dress your cutest of course, but also with Calgary’s highly unpredictable weather in mind, and the chilly evenings! Also- snacks, cash, and a camera to document the experience!

Summer is pretty much here!!!!!! There is so much to be excited about, including some really really hot summer shows coming to Calgary. Every year I look forward to seeing which of my fav bands will visit Calgary on their summer tours. Here is a little preview of some of the upcoming shows I’m most excited about in the next couple weeks!
May 22 and 23 – Bon Iver at Mac Hall Ballroom – I hope he sings Calgary!! The show is sold out, but there is tons of people selling tickets on kijiji!
May 23 – Zeus with Wake! Owl at Broken City – This show would be worth seeing just for the openers, Wake! Owl. They are the most adorable boys with guitars! Check out their single called Wild Country. (http://vimeo.com/28395328)
June 1 – Deer Tick at The Gateway
June 5 – Wintersleep at Hifi
June 6 – Brasstronaut : check them out at Communitea Cafe in Canmore. Make an evening out of it and drive to the mountains to see these guys in a low-key cozy venue in the mountains!
June 9 – Jon and Roy at the Palomino
…and then its almost SLED ISLAND! woohoooo! But that’s a whole other story!
Get out there and groove to some live music to kick off your summer!

As you’ll notice this year in Osoyoos, Queen Boutique is no longer there. We’re going to miss being down in Osoyoos this year but know we have future plans to come back! We’re taking a year or two off for business reasons. It was a hard decision to make, but was in our best interest for this time.
We absolutely love Osoyoos and consider it our home. We have met soooo many great people and will miss your visits for a couple years. We do plan on vacationing many times this year, so don’t be a stranger if you see us on the streets!

We are showcasing our house line QUEEN ELIZABETH VINTAGE at Market Collective this weekend March 17th-18th. We are stoked! The market is an excellent way for Calgarians to get together and support each other.
QUEEN ELIZABETH VINTAGE is a mix a vintage and re-created pieces we’ve designed. All items are picked with love and cleaned so they’re fresh. Cotton are pre-shrunk and wools hand-washed. All of the items have been pre-worn and are all unique!
We do hope to attend the market each season, bringing in new items we’ve created and found.
